ABOUT THE POEM: Chapter 82 – Watching Me is a quiet pivot in the Ronie Dinosaur sequence. It shifts from confrontation to observation, from noise to endurance. The chapter frames identity as something earned by staying—like a tree claiming ground through persistence rather than permission. Watching becomes a diagnostic act: the observer reveals himself by how he looks. Philosophy here is not declared; it accumulates through time, pressure, and refusal to move. Psychology is reduced to consequence, not cause—the shadow that follows endurance. The closing movement reframes degradation as agency: when labeled and cheapened, Ronie chooses an intellectual transaction on his own terms, persisting without losing character. The chapter asserts a discipline of stillness, self-obligation, and irony as lived condition—no witness required, no applause expected.

Ronie Dinosaur Chapter 82 – Watching Me

I see you watching me, trying to learn who I am,
while I learn what you are by the way you watch.

There was a time when I thought:
my mind is trying to solve my own mind, and I don’t know what the big deal is.

Just as staying in one place gives you a right to it-
you own that place by remaining there, like a tree-
similarly, over time, simple thoughts develop into philosophy
when they carry the weight of being filtered through time.

Psychology is the shadow of that tree,
always moving with it,
never leaving it.

I, Ronie, am an irony.

When they cheapened me, rejected me, labeled me,
I did the same as a prostitute-but intellectually.
Like a tree against a stubborn wind, I persisted
without losing my character.
